Frequently asked questions
How often does test and tag need to be done?
It depends on the environment: construction gear is typically every 3 months, factories and workshops 6–12 months, offices and low-risk environments up to 5 years for some equipment. We set the right intervals per AS/NZS 3760 and keep the register so nothing lapses.
Is test and tag legally required?
WHS law requires employers to ensure electrical equipment is safe; testing to AS/NZS 3760 is the recognised way to demonstrate it, and many sites, insurers and principal contractors mandate it outright. Practically: if an inspector or insurer asks, you want the tags and the register.
What is involved in emergency light testing?
A 90-minute discharge test every six months proves each fitting runs its rated duration on battery, with results logged to AS 2293. Failed batteries and fittings are the usual finds — we repair or replace them on the spot where possible.
